'Tis the Season?

I promise to be happier tomorrow, and I apologize that this is going to be a bit of a rant.  As you ALL know, we just got back from Iraq about a week and a half ago.  We've had one day completely off.  The people who did not deploy have enjoyed every 4-day weekend the Army offers (at least one each month) for the past year.  We have had none.  This ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about all that. There's nothing like operational inefficiency to make the holidays that much more festive.

On the no snow front, you wouldn't be enjoying any of it here, either. It's raining right now, and feels like it's in the 40's. Christmas lights (the few I've seen) look really weird on soggy lawns dripping water in pools beneath them. Also, baby Jesus in a mud puddle is an interesting, if depressing thing to see every night on your drive home.

The Germans can be a pretty reserved people, when they aren't at the Biergarten.

Apparently, having an ocean seperating the countries has done nothing to differentiate the climates. Or at least, the weather. It's been pretty warm here too, though only a little rain since the day we arrived. It is, at least, trying to snow.

I think Colorado stole it all- snow scrooges! Hording all the white fluffy fun like that should be illegal!
