Well, today I got my letter from MIT saying I was deferred from early action to the regular pool, no big surprise. However, my dad was quick to chime in with helpful words, saying that it'd be God's grace if I made it into MIT and telling me to apply to Cornell instead. I can't take it anymore ... I need something to change. I've never been so damn bored in my whole life. Day in and day out everything's just always the same. It's sad that MIT pushing the due date of their early application back is one of the best things that's happened to me in at least the last few weeks, if not longer.

It bothers me when people try to take credit for stuff I do. Like, my dad keeps saying that if I get into MIT he'll buy himself a BMW, and I'm just sorta like, okay ... It's practically damaging my motivation to succeed because I know that if I DO get into MIT or Harvard or some shit like that, he'll go around bragging about how his influence got ( Read more... )
