He's nearly 3 months old--I finally have his birth story completed. Aren't you glad I used lj-cut? :)

Dave, curtly put, shut up.

Amy, that was a very beautiful thing to read. Thanks for giving us this insight, sparring no details. I've been told by many that birthing by midwives is by far the best way to go. I'm glad to hear that your long experience was worth it.

Thanks! I wrote the long version mostly for my sake, and Peter's, but I figured others could benefit hearing the good and the bad parts of the choices we made.

I would recommend midwives over doctors to any low-risk woman. The care I received was so much fuller because of the time they were able to spend getting to know us. I called them for weeks afterwards with questions and they came to check on us every couple days until he was 2 weeks old.

Congratulations again!

Your story has given me a renewed respect for women who give birth. So much work!

Wow. You are an inspiration. Great job! It was well worth staying up late to read it!
You have a beautiful boy, and I'm glad to have gotten a chance to read his birth story.

Thanks! I always figured I'd have a long labor but I didn't realize it would be THAT long. I'm glad you were able to find it. Is your birth story posted anywhere?

I had a longer version posted on another website, but that site just went down a couple of weeks ago. :| So there's the quicky version. I added you to my friends list so you can see it, feel free to add me back. If you don't I understand. :) (This is the only post opened up from the early days. Recently I privated all my post to start from a clean slate. )

It was a not very fun experience. Hopefully, next time, I will be able to be in more control of everything.
