I bought a knitting license from Little Turtle Knits recently and my store officially opened today. To my amazement, two things (worth $85) sold within 2 minutes and another $50 pair of knit pants sold this afternoon. Whoo-hoo!
Yay! I was online watching the official opening and was impressed. I was glad that I was able to pre-order.
Good luck on your business and knitting endeavors. The sheep with the scarf is just too cute. Almost exactly what I had been picturing for ewebetcha :)
You have my first soaker and my second pair of longies :) My grafting (the seam at the bottom) has gotten a lot better since spring!
The graphics lady tried to get the sheep to do a thumbs up sign but couldn't get it to look right (according to her--I never saw the attempts), but I like how it turned out.
yes, and the prices will go up about $10 each after this first stocking.
A pair of pants takes about 10 hours, so the per hour rate is below minimum wage. If I wasn't knitting all the time anyway, I wouldn't sell stuff.
Some people won't pay more than $10 for a diaper cover, and that's fine. Peter only has wool covers because I can knit them--I'd never pay $30+ for a cover myself. However, even taking the most expensive approach to cloth diapering--2 dozen $20 diapers in each size plus a half dozen $50 covers--is cheaper than buying disposables for 2-3.5 years, and they can be reused for future kids.
