I spent the weekend in the Chicago area, having a delightful break from normal life. This is totally unrelated, but if you haven't seen this article on a couple who were harassed for having a home birth, I thought you might be interested. It's scary.

I did see that this morning, and I forwarded it to a bunch of natural-birthing buddies. I wish they went into more detail and explained whether the birth was unassisted (without midwives) or not. It's totally ridiculous that so much effort would be spent on this family when there are better ways to spend those police/EMT resources. Geesh.

Thanks for the heads up on the article, though. I don't always check the local news that carefully.

Part of my job is (WAS!) to read the national AP news wire, especially anything to do with courts. So I get all kinds of news about lawsuits from across the country. That one happened to catch my eye because of you, so I went digging for a version on the web.
