I've been trying to get my damn hair silver, but nothing I've tried has worked other than making it a mucky blue-ish violet.

Maybe the jobs like the people who come check on you during the performance and stuff too ?

Get Manic Panic's "Cool Boy Blue", mix it with toner or conditioner to make it lighter, and it should do the trick.
If it's still too blue after, it should turn silver in one - 3 washes. ;D

I have some midnight blue, I was tempted to try diluting that, but it might be too dark a blue.
