Well, the Passing Out Parade went very very well, the weather was sunny and clear, everyone, especially the Boy Wonder, looked rather good in their uniforms, and they even got a fly-by.
was that I was coming down with a flu-like lurgy and ceased to be terribly bothered about an hour or two into the day. But all in all, the base reminded me almost overwhelmingly of boarding school, complete with dormitories, nasty refectory, curtailed privacy, uniforms, and compulsory PT in atrocious weather. I felt a lot like I was a parent attending for Speech Day and mentioned this to my father who wholeheartedly agreed with me.
After all this, I was ill. I know very little other than the fact that I was ill, I seem to have lost time somewhere. I am now feeling better, although the part where I coughed up blood has had an astonishing effect on my smoking cessation programme. I am now 59 hours and 20 minutes into being completely nicotine free.
In addition, the Boy Wonder came home this weekend and promptly broke the computer network. After much faffing around, it would appear that a new motherboard is required for his PC, and that we won't be able to fix the connection issues from the network to broadband because frelling NTL does not support LAN's. Frell.
But, we did re-watch The 10th Kingdom which is always good for a giggle, and The Boy was on a mission to grab a copy of Pirates of the Caribbean to satisfy his Johnny Depp fetish. Me? I like Geoffrey Rush. And the monkey.
