[There's nothing Roy can do to help, not with carrying the body. So he waits for Riza at home and scours the network for information.]

[About an hour or so later, Riza's coming back home, now without her coat, though she's wet and cold and shivering. Immediately she goes to wash up as well as she can (since smelling like death is frowned upon) and get changed into dry clothes. She then comes to the living room to wrap herself in a blanket.

Hayate curls up on the floor in front of her and Dakota jumps up to curl next to her on the couch.]

[Roy has the blanket ready for her when she gets back to the living room. There's a certain self-consciousness, an awareness that his actions mean something different to her than to him. The ghost of her husband haunts him.

But these feelings are boxed away and set aside with the ease of practice.]

What happened?

All I can tell is his heart was ripped from his chest, but left behind. It's not characteristic of any animal I know of and it definitely doesn't surprise me that someone here would be capable of such a thing. I just don't know who is.

I know the body has been out in the rain, but did you notice anything else?

Rigor mortis has already set in and started to dissipate, so my guess is he's been dead for a little over twelve hours, give or take. There's not much else I've seen.
