I woke up this morning, looked outside to see everything white, and was immediately eight years old. In a flash I could remember all the lyrics to all the Christmas carols, I remembered the smell of dirty Jersey snow melting inside the scarf that's wrapped around your face, and I wanted to go ladle chowder at a soup kitchen and befriend everyone

The snow made me happy, too, for whatever reason. It is cozy.
