It's really irritating that blog URL names that I want to use are taken by people who haven't posted since 2004! Is there some way to like... delete their blog so I can have the name? Not cool blogspot, not cool.

Try emailing the lame blogger and asking them to delete their blog!

Try using the same name on wordpress. Maybe it's not taken there, plus wordpress > blogspot.
