So I finished reading DH. Finally! I actually avoided the fandom for over a month to avoid getting nailed by spoilers the way that I did when I stumbled upon a "In book 6, Dumbledore dies" icon a few days before book 6 came out.

So what did you all think? I loved it!

I think I loved it, but I read it so fast that some details just never got stored. I'll have to go through it again, slower, in a week or two.

I don't know why the epilogue annoys so many people. I'm a slasher, but there was no way Jo was going to end the story showing Ron and Harry growing old together.

I managed to stay online without spoilers; pleased at everyone's restraint and the dedication of the mods of communities I'm in.

There were plenty of disappointments though--Remus and Tonks dying without more than a footnote; never really getting to see George again after Fred's death; Fred's death, for that matter. Poor George--condemned to go on not only without his ear but without his other half.

My problem is that the whole point of the epilogue was to identify all of the characters in their litter instead of telling us what happened to the main characters (aside from who they are shagging) in the 19 years that have passed. After reading seven bloody books it would be nice to know whether people had careers, etc.

I enjoyed it. The epilogue - aarrrghhhh! What had gotten into her? She was channelling some Mary Sue what with the kids' names and explanations.

Epilogue from a very confusing hell, but otherwise very good.

I was bouncing up and down (did you know it's really hard to read while bouncing?) when Harry rushed to Snape's side... Then his memory's, I kept substituting Sirius for Lily...

The epilogue was terrible. But other than that I loved the book.

Yeah...the book was ridiculously dark...but I dug that.
Furthermore, I hated the epilogue...it tied too much up, it was cheesy, and it just sucked.
