CHARACTER
✧ NAME: Xigbar
✧ SERIES: Kingdom Hearts
✧ HISTORY:
http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Braig and
http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Xigbar ✧ TIMELINE: Post-KHII.
✧ PERSONALITY:
Xigbar is a Nobody; in other words, he has no heart, and therefore no emotions. Any emotions he displays are, therefore, an act - but a very convincing one. His ‘personality’, therefore, is actually just how he remembers acting as Braig, back when he had a heart.
Laid-back, cocky, and with a California surfer accent, Xigbar has a habit of pushing buttons, and often does so intentionally. He goes out of his way in canon to confuse Sora, calling him “Roxas” and deliberately pushing at him (“Be a good boy now!”). However, he also went out of his way to check up on Roxas’s progress in 358/2 Days, and deliberately drops vague hints about what the Organization is up to. That doesn’t necessarily make him a nice guy, though; between jokes about the deaths of other members of the Organization and his history as Braig, Xigbar definitely isn’t a hero and never will be one.
No conversation with Xigbar is complete with a sarcastic comment, and he often throws in nicknames, depending on who he’s talking to (Roxas has been called “tiger” and “kiddo”, Xion was called “Poppet”, and Axel got the dubious honor of “Flamesilocks”). He also frequently uses the phrase “As if!” His sarcasm and laid-back attitude seems to be fairly constant, even in battle. However, he’s also content to laze around and spy on people; really, Xigbar just does what he wants (and he’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants). Roxas states at one point that Xigbar isn’t an easy guy to trick, and that’s definitely true. If he wants to know something, Xigbar has no qualms about how he’ll find out, going so far as to spy on Xemnas himself.
Even with his attitude, Xigbar is still one of the most trusted members of the Organization. He may not necessarily act like he’s taking things seriously, but he is very good at what he does. Though he is Number Two in the Organization, he isn’t actually second-in-command; however, his presence in a meeting with Xemnas and Saïx suggests that he is still incredibly high-ranked. He is loyal to the Organization and its goals, and calls Roxas (through Sora) a traitor more than the others. Though this could be pressing buttons, as Sora (at the time) had no idea who Roxas was, it is worth mentioning, as he does it rather regularly. He also compares the two of them to Ventus, likely to deliberately confuse them.
Though it doesn’t seem like it, thanks to just how obnoxious and laid-back he seems, Xigbar is extremely smart. He doesn’t let himself get caught in traps and he doesn’t let himself stay in the dark. If there’s something he doesn’t know that he wants to find out about, he will poke around, pry, spy, eavesdrop, bribe, blackmail, threaten, kidnap, and do anything else he can think of to find out about it. He’s slippery and hard to catch, and he’s stubborn enough that getting him to give up is next to impossible. This makes him extremely difficult to trick, though if you do manage to pull the wool over his eyes, he’ll probably be more impressed than anything else.
Without a heart, Xigbar can’t care about anything. His only real goal is to get his heart back, and while Nobodies seem to still have a self-preservation instinct, the inability to actually feel and care is a huge weakness. While it may be seen as a strength, especially to a character as manipulative and immoral as Xigbar can be, the fact remains that he is not whole. Being able to feel is, especially in the Kingdom Hearts series, with its themes of light vs. darkness and friendship, an enormous strength that Xigbar is missing out on, as he doesn’t care about anyone but himself. In addition, his habit of spying and manipulating others is one that will often get him in trouble, and his obnoxious, laid-back, mocking attitude certainly won’t help matters. Xigbar is abrasive by nature, even if it’s only a false, remembered nature.
✧ ABILITIES/POWERS:
As a Nobody, Xigbar can open and move through Corridors of Darkness to get from place to place and world to world. He is also able to sense the light and the darkness within hearts. As a high-ranking Nobody in Organization XIII, he can summon and control several lesser Nobodies, including Dusks and Creepers, though his “special” lesser Nobodies are the Sniper Nobodies. He is also capable of summoning Heartless. In addition to these powers, Xigbar also specializes in spatial manipulation. Essentially, Xigbar can teleport, hang upside-down from the ceiling, levitate in mid-air (oftentimes also upside-down), and even change the room itself (in his boss battle in Kingdom Hearts II, Xigbar narrows the room, alters the floor to include a narrow path, and changes the arena to a box with several platforms).
His weapons are called arrowguns, and his most commonly used pair is the Sharpshooter model, though he has others. The Sharpshooters hold thirty-two shots, which are essentially laser arrows. They fire extremely quickly and have long range. Xigbar can use his spatial manipulation to warp these shots toward his target; in other words, he can shoot at one end of the room and direct the shot toward someone in the center of it. It’s worth noting that Xigbar is an excellent shot, even without the manipulation and with an eyepatch. If the target is standing still, it’s likely he’ll hit it - and not take out anything around it.

✧ FIRST PERSON:
http://community.livejournal.com/dear_mun/32130750.html ✧ THIRD PERSON:
Xigbar didn’t make a habit of going to Wonderland on missions. For one thing, Luxord, his accent, and his cards fit in quite a bit better than a scarred man with an eyepatch, and his own accent stuck out even more than his appearance did. For another, the world was… well, for lack of a better term, fucking weird. There were drinks and cakes that made you change your size, there were men with large hats drinking tea with rabbits, there was a pink-and-purple grinning cat, and there was a little blonde girl who was running around trying to talk sense into everyone. If he had a heart, he had a feeling she would irritate him more than the rest, but at the moment, Alice was far from his mind.
That probably had far more to do with the fact that Xigbar was currently stuck in the Bizarre Room and gravity was changing without his say-so than his lack of a heart, but still, it was the thought that counted. At the very least, he was beginning to see why he’d been sent here instead of Luxord. The gambler was good, sure, but this wasn’t his area of expertise. When it came to walking on walls and strolling across ceilings, Xigbar was the expert - but this room was getting hard to figure out. He understood the size-changing part, but walking into a forest and going through a bush put him out on one wall and going through a tree brought him out on top of the chimney was beginning to get ridiculous. To make matters worse, he had to make a map of the damn place. He wasn’t a cartographer, and Luxord was a big boy who could take care of himself.
Sighing, Xigbar teleported himself on top of the (now incredibly large) table to look over his map. It wasn’t his best work, but it wasn’t like he could care, and Saïx was so anal-retentive that nothing would ever be good enough. Whistling to himself, he either didn’t notice or didn’t care about the Heartless lurking around nearby. He didn’t have a Keyblade and he didn’t have one of the kids to babysit. He had a shitty excuse for a map and a puzzle to figure out, so that was what he was going to do - starting with that damn grinning cat.
He just had to find him first.
