Cissie should have known better, she really should have. The change in weather from the pleasantly hot to the stupidly cold was a sign that the island was up to no good again. The buildings had changed, both inside and out so any sensible person should have been wary ( Read more... )

Bart needed something to do. Something to take his mind off the way the cold weather made his knee ache and that there was even less to do now. The whole place had transformed into something thought up by Theodore Geisel, and was snowing artistically to boot. If the treehouse hadn't been changed like everything else, it would have been worse, but all the solar-heated water in the world couldn't make things better.

"I'm stuck," she said, wincing at how stupid it sounded. "I've tried just about everything but I can't get out."

"Wait!" Cissie held her hand out, trying to keep Bart from getting himself trapped but to no avail. "Okay, I hate to say it but now? We're both trapped."

"Ugh," she groaned and leaned against him for a moment. "It's got to be. Stupid island and its stupid mistletoe. Sometimes I really hate this place."
