Bwahahaha, so last night/early this morning I found the following song, and I think it sums up like 75% of the frustration that I have with learning Spanish. Hmmm... I'll keep this for easy reference . I suspected I was over-simplifying when I said I understand everything on the Aljazeera feature on Bolivia . I see these singers mention Salamanca . That's where Ana , my neighbour , comes from ...
After all there are similar differences between British and American English -

PS we'd both probably have difficulty in understanding Strine (Australian) . When two cousins of my mam (Yorkshire dialect) visited us I asked her what language they were speaking .
