Actually, there is a problem with AIM Bots, they open up odd connections with random people using prefabricated screen names.
The easiest way to tell if it's this is to look at the screen name and see if it can be divided into two individual portions (my first one came from 'SoylentTaco', you can easily see the division there)
I've received 6 individual ones so far, if you don't block them they will randomly open connections at times you are both on.
It's a problem at AOL, not in your comp.
I have 3 different AIM accounts and it's only happened on one so far.
But, once it latches onto your SN, it'll hold on to it and send others occassionally.

Your name also appears differently to the other person on the IM.
I forget what others mine have been.
The only one I didn't block was SoylentTaco...he's actually somewhat interesting.

I had the same IM bot, only it was something like "windsurfcoho" instead, did the same thing to me. IM'd me with "barack obama" spelled upside down and then claimed they didn't remember im'ing me, I've had it happen a couple of times. It's really annoying.

(I'm singbkdrft's wife btw, sorry to barge in on you, was reading his F-list and saw your post and the botting had happened to me just a few hours ago!)

Oh, hi! Don't worry about barging in. This LJ is pretty open. It doesn't update a whole lot, because I'm fairly apathetic about it.

Not entirely sure if I've met you. I might have, but I've kinda slipped off the radar for the past few years. Plus my memory is crap, even we did meet once, I probably wouldn't remember it. But I'm sure we run into each other eventually. You might have to remind me again, but I'll get it one time or another.
