Draw yourself a horizontal line, about an inch wide. Now say "Ee!" Short and hard. There, you just pronounced the number 'one' in Chinese. Yay! Two is about as difficult, read as: not very. Take your horizontal line, and draw another one under it, slightly wider, and centered. "Er!" Short and hard again. Three is another similar one. Take your two lines, and draw another wider line above them, centered as before. "San?" Like you were asking it, not saying it. Soft, high, and slightly drifted off. There are four tones, ok, seven really, and you learned two of them, and three words. Go you! XDDD
Thankyou. When I started reading, I wasn't sure where this post was going, but happily it went a-language-learning. And hi ho the dairy oh, I went. With an ee er ee er san.
