I have completed NaNoWriMo, as of roughly 9:30 this evening. I am feeling somewhat less victorious than I ought to about this, since what I was really hoping for was to actually finish a story this year and word count be damned. I think holiday decorations have a very strong power to elicit emotions and memories from people. More power than other seemingly mundane things. I find that things which remind me of certain seasons or traditions are incredibly nostalgic. I'm not really sure why.

Also congrats on finishing, that's totally amazing :D Even if it wasn't quite how you wanted, that's still an incredible accomplishment.

PS. Craig and John Paul reunited on Hollyoaks. It's pretty fucked up yet ultimately satisfying, and it's on youtube.

Yeah, that's true. I think it has to do with holidays get to be particularly nostalgic because they generally only happen once a year. Sudden changes in the weather tend to affect me the same way, too. Like, the first day it really feels like "fall", or when the snow starts melting in the spring.

Thanks. :D I was going to text you when I finished and be like "OMG SO MUCH WIN!!", but I can't find my phone. o_O Which is mildly disturbing.

Ahah, yes! September 2008 has come and gone. I will have to go find that and watch it now that I have time to waste without (as much) guilt again. I don't remember where I saw this, but a bit ago I stumbled across something about Sarah getting into a lesbian relationship with some other chick on Hollyoaks. Which seemed incredibly fucked up to me.

Don't worry, when you go to college you'll come back home and go like "whoa, this shit doesn't even make sense" and it'll all be nostalgic, not just certain bits. ...And by "go to college" I mean "come to UMass."
