Spring flowers...
I was picking some daffodils when I found this delicate and pretty flower! I had no idea what it was but I thought it would go well in my bouquet. A friend on FB let me know it was a Spring Snowflake. Another flower with nature's beauty!

Daffodils and spring....

Hyacinths...
I had one plant, just one hyacinth plant bloom this year. I love the scent of hyacinth and cut them to bring spring into my kitchen. This one was a stark white flower against dark luscious green. Forsythia is blooming....
I always look forward to the sight of my Forsythia blooming, as it is a sure sign of the beginning of spring. Since we are all in lock down, I decided to lift my spirits with making a watercolor of some branches I cut from my garden.

Roses.....
I bought a pretty bouquet of yellow roses and it was a joy to watch them open up to beautiful blossoms. Since the weather has been a little dreary, they brightened my day. How could I not resist the temptation of sketching one with my watercolor brush?

Fall flowers....

More fall painting...
I invited a friend to come over and just do some watercolor painting. I didn't have anything specific in mind, but I collected some fallen leaves and had them in my studio. It's always fun to warm up and get the creative juices flowing by just using these leaves as a stamp and working them into a the background of a painting. It's kind of trial ( Read more... ) -
Fall Inspiration...
Inspired by this cool, crisp, fall day, it was fun to just enjoy the changing colors of an oak tree right outside my studio window. How could I not paint it?

New inspiration today...
I bought some new watercolor paints and I haven't had the inspiration to play with them. This morning the sun was shining and all seemed right with the world, so I picked three colors and just allowed myself to go with the good feelings. So happy I did!
