I get this feeling of numbness sometimes, like my life just is but not much else. It hasn't happened much lately but it used to a lot, especially freshman year.
Although it's hard to admit that this is the real reason, there is probably something specific or several things specific that are bothering you. Sometimes one's reaction to things that are upsetting or sad is to be depressed; other times it's just to detach and feel numb or apathetic. You could try confronting the things or people that are bothering you, but I think a feeling of hopelessness about changing those situations is often what creates that sense of numbness.
I guess my post contributes nothing at all, but I hope your situation changes and I think inevitably it will. If you need to talk or anything, I'm online sometimes in the evenings. Peace out.
I kinda go through these periods of complete dissatisfaction where I just question everything I am, everything I'm doing in life, and everything that surrounds me. I can't distract myself from the idea that I missed something, that things should be different, or everything is all wrong. I can't explain why, either, even if I wanted to. It's just this feeling I get.
I'm not sure I understand completely what you're feeling, but then again, I'm not sure anyone can completely understand us when we aren't even sure what's wrong, ourselves. Maybe you just need to get away and step outside of your situation for awhile. Taking a look in from the outside of your own life really helps you get a better perspective on what's going on.
I hope things work out better for you. Call sometime! It's always good to hear from you.

don't know if it would work, but a change of scenery never hurts.
