I think what I like best about your writing (other than loving me a good hurt!Dean) is the way you capture locations, and the local legends that I fear the show itself has lost track of.

This story? No exception in the least. Nicely done.

Now I want some zucchini bread. . . .

Thank you!! The folklore & local legends were a big part of what drew me to this show...you know, besides teh pretty. I've always enjoyed that casefile kind of genre - from the X-Files, all the way back to Scooby Doo. I'm glad you think I do a good job with 'em!

Oddly enough, I'm making zucchini bread today. Or maybe not so odd, since I have a METRIC SHIT-TONNE of zucchini, which inspired the overabundance of bread in the story. :)

Thanks again!

That's totally what drew me, too. As I recall, my response to the season one finale (other than laughing out loud and shouting "My name isn't really Michael Vaughn!") was "man, they ruined a perfectly good monster-of-the-week show with an overriding plot.

It wasn't until the trifecta of WIAWSNB and AHBL 1 & 2 that I properly fell for the sucker. . . .

You have me pondering trying to bake this weekend, myself.

The first ep I watched was Folsom Prison Blues - I remember thinking at the time, not obsessed yet, but I could probably get there... :)

Hope any baking endeavors go well!

Perfect interaction between the boys as they wrestle with all their "stuff." And just in time to prep me for the premiere - thank you so much!

I hope you don't mind if I add you to my friends list - it's rare that I come across a fellow Lonesome Dove fan (loved the books, the multi-part made for tv movies, the series)...and, of course, I don't want to miss out on any more fic (SPN or otherwise) that might be in the future.

Thank you so much - glad you enjoyed it!

Always cool to hear from another Lonesome Dove fan. My friend & beta laurie_bug introduced me to the series and to the fic (I was so green she had to explain what slash was!). I've finally paid her back by getting her into SPN. We'd actually plotted out a whole LD third season, but never got farther than the first fic. Maybe someday...

But for now, Dean's just too much fun to beat up! :)

I love a good casefic myself - there never seems to be enough of 'em out there. I hope I'm helping to fill the void!

Thanks for reading & commenting!

Poor Dean...I suppose we break him as much as he breaks us. ;)

Glad you enjoyed it!
