Favorite Brand of Oil Paints?

I am experimenting here; several of my books say the paint out of the tube should be usable for some purposes, and the brand I've got (my favorite for gouache, M. Graham), is absolutely not usable straight out of the tube. It's been decades since I've used oils but I don't remember needing to use a medium just to get it on the canvas ( Read more... )

Lukas Studio Oils. They're a bit thick out of the tube, but even when you thin them with linseed oil, they still dry faster than most oils. Especially when you stick them in the sun on a still day(I've had them dry to the point I can do another layer in 2 days like that). They're fairly priced and with decent light fastness. I recommend ASWexpress.com to get them, they usually have them for like....2-something a tube.
