does anyone have advice for how to get good quality pictures of drawings that are too big to scan?

one of them rigs that mounts the camera in front of a drawing. i don't really remember what it looks like but i think that's how my sister put her portfolio together.

depending on their size, remove the top of the scanner (most will let you do this) and scan the drawings evenly in sections so they can be pasted together in p.shop. since the scanner provides a perfectly consistent light it will be impossible to detect the 'page breaks'.

scanners have much higher resolution than (your average) digital cameras, so i'd try to avoid shooting anything you don't absolutely have to.
