Glad to hear Paul has job prospects and that you and the boys are doing well. Sue and i have been sick as dogs with the flu and on top of that my doctor sent me for tests since I lost feeling in my toes. Yesterday they got back to me and are sending me to a vascular surgeon. Little worried about what all this means but I suspect I have blockage somewhere in my veins. Last week I was fitted with hearing aids and they help my hearing a lot and Sue says she has to learn to speak quieter now as she had been used to yelling at me a lot. So hope I am not bringing you down but getting old sucks. I will keep you updated on what's happening.
*hugs* Love and miss you both. Riley was saying the other day that it has been ages since we saw you guys. The boys were asking if you were going to come out any time soon. I love the fact that they think of you as family. :) Be careful with the toes! My mom has to be careful with hers; losing feeling in the toes is apparently a common thing for diabetics and you have to be careful not to get dinged up since you don't have the feeling there- really don't want to get infections or injuries you can't feel, after all. Yeah, getting old sucks. But never doubt that you are much loved, eh? *more hugs*
It's lovely to read you're doing well. As for the boys and their confidence, I believe confidence in children (and carrying on into adulthood) is in *such* a large part down to early parenting being supportive and nurturing, not smothering or overprotective )and to how their impulses to explore are being met by life and people). And that's such a difficult balance to get right, I think.
Confidence is not something I find easy, or can remember ever finding easy, unless I know I can do the thing because I've done it many times before. For new things? I do wish I had more confidence, had that belief of being able to do anything.
As for the reality grounding, I am so with you on that. Ditto on the working on picking myself back up out of the mud. So go on, lady, take a deep breath, feel the ground under your feet supporting you and get up and try again. 'Cause you can. I believe you can. We can both work on that together. *hugs*
