Dear robot fan,

thank you for reading my letter.

If you have been assigned to me, first of all: Write the story you want to write, draw the fanart you would like to see created, and I'm sure I'll be happy! My prompts are mere suggestions, though I hope they'll give you an idea of things I would enjoy.

For ongoing canons and large canons: I try to focus my prompts on earlier/complete seasons. Wherever it applies to your work, feel free to ignore new canon developments after signups - or include them, don't worry about spoiling me about the latest installment, if I've signed up for a canon I want everything for it. The same goes for large canons like Star Wars, you're welcome to include or ignore the EU as you like, both as pertains the requested characters or world building. I'm also always happy to have Legends worked in, if that's your thing.

If we matched on a ship: I enjoy slow burn and low-key romance or build-up to romance, and also the bittersweetness of things which almost are but may never happen - so don't worry about a fic being "shippy enough."

For OCs: I leave gender and sexuality of the OCs to you. I'm open to every race, body type, age and species. If you go for aliens, feel free to pick obscure or very non-human looking ones, I love the diversity of SW aliens in looks and culture - speaking of the latter, I also love the variety of human cultures in the galaxy far far away. I'm open to non-binary genders in both robot and organic partners.

I'm
Artemis1000 on AO3 and
cynical-harlequin on Tumblr if you'd like to dig around, my current fandom blog is
artemis1000.

Again, thank you, and happy creating!

GENERAL

Do Not Want
- Unrequested extreme kinks, as well as sexual humiliation, sexual slavery, daddy/mommy kink
- Character/ship bashing
- Adultery/cheating/breakup fic (unless canon or requested). If a canon couple must be split for my ship, I'd rather they were never together.
- Underage sex
- Modern/mundane AU

Likes

Story likes:
- exploration of the dynamics between characters, introspection very welcome
- slice of life moments/snapshots
- emotions flying high (hurting another welcome)
- quiet (bitter-)sweet moments
- kidfic, family fic, babies and preparing for a baby
- pregnancy fic. Het and m/m mpreg, het and f/f fpreg, consensual trans pregnancies (please no body horror or medical experimentation themes for trans preg), unusual pregnancies (weird alien biology, hatching eggs, and so on), getting pregnant through magic/science mishaps, I love it all
- world building, all the world building! Hit me up with all the obscure canon or your own contributions, I love all the cultures, planets, fictional sociology, all these little details that enrich a fictional world. With real-world canons, go wild with historical details if you enjoy that but please don't worry about having to write the most historically accurate fic ever
- unusual formats (examples: epistolary, 2nd person, in-universe documents, interactive fiction)
- adventure, case fic
- humor/comedy, quirkiness
- ensemble fic, ensemble showing up in ship fic
- team as family
- AUs like historical, steampunk, canon divergence, other canonverse AUs, allegiance change (not so much into modern day AUs of the high school/college/coffee shop flavor)
- long-term relationships (maybe 5/10 years later) and how they changed them
- emotional support, healing, recovery
- fusions and crossovers
- atmospheric writing, setting is important, strong sense of place
- unreliable or biased narrators
- homosexuality/gay marriage-is-accepted AU, if canon has homophobia

Character/relationship likes:
- distinction between I want you/love you and I'm going to act on it
- cute/fluffy things, awkward dorks in love
- both getting together and established relationships
- banter and being able to laugh together
- equal partners supporting another no matter what fate throws at them
- asexual relationships, poly relationships, non-binary genders, trans
- non-humans being truly non-human in their thinking, behavior, wants and anatomy (seriously, go wild with your aliens/robots/fantasy creatures!)
- OCs
- rule 63
- women in power, female friendship, women being supportive of another
- pillow talk afterglow cuteness with cuddling and whispering
- A/B/O, all the more so if it's unconventional or explores social dynamics (such as female alpha/male omega, non-alpha/omega pairings, dominant omegas...)
- arranged marriages/political marriages/marriages of convenience (learning to love another or the bitterness of never finding love no matter how hard you try - both great!)

Dark likes:
- character death (including one half of the ship killing the other, yes please)
- bringing your partner trophies, or in general objectively horrifying or bizarre displays of affection
- Vampires, werewolves, and special love for non-Western creatures
- angst, bleak things, pessimistic views on humanity, deeply cynical tales and narratives
- unhappy/tragic endings. Grey areas, imperfect things, flawed happy endings, Pyrrhic victories
- creeping and psychological horror, Burtonesque/Vaudeville horror, "cute" horror, body horror, the horror of utter helplessness in the face of overwhelming odds, morbide and bizarre things, the horror of terrifying things being treated as everyday
- dystopian scenarios (post-apocalyptic, bad guys won, etc)
- characters being their own greatest enemy, failing again and again due to their own mistakes and character flaws, thus creating their own misery. Test of character moments failed
- doomed relationships, unhealthy relationship dynamics, manipulative and/or opportunistic relationships (especially if so by both parties, especially especially if they both believe themselves to be the mastermind pulling the other's strings), people who try their best but still bring out the worst in another - or just want to destroy another
- moral dilemmas, morally grey characters making questionable decisions, good characters being corrupted, grey characters failing and falling, conflicts where everyone involved is wrong
- body horror (body modification, transformation, diseases)
- possession
- self-hate/self-loathing for being attracted to the person they like/want (as long as it's not based on this person's gender, I'm rather thinking of hating yourself for desiring your enemy)
- people struggling to live their lives and stubbornly hold on to as much normalcy as they can in times where nothing is normal

Smut likes:
- smut which delves into the characters, their relationship and their dynamics (think character study through smut/porn with feelings tags)
- couples being able to laugh or banter together in bed, fail!sex, humorous sex
- couples feeling safe and comfortable with another to let down all their guards - all the profound trust and intimacy (especially with people to whom it doesn't come easily)
- pain play
- blood play
- knife and gun play
- mind games, power play, power struggles
- wet and messy; body fluids (no watersports, please)
- rimming, ass-to-mouth
- bondage or being held/pinned tightly

- consent play
- hairplay
- xeno, all the xeno - exploration of physical differences/biology/anatomy, different needs, just all around expounding on the xeno aspect
- hatesex, angry sex, rough sex
- leaving marks, bruises (as well as characters later kinking on being marked)
- aftercare
- clothing kink (uniforms, half-dressed, dressed, focus on clothes)
- wing kink
- tentacle hair
- wanting sex but ~circumstances~ don't permit it, the tension/agony of it, dealing with the discomfort of arousal while having to function as normal, the sense of urgency when they can finally have sex (or the frustration and longing if they can't)
- phone sex/sexting/talking your partner to orgasm
- sex pollen (including trope inverted by agreement to put yourself under the influence)
- breath play (including but not limited to force choking)
- telepathy, empathy, use of powers, inappropriate use of the force (bonus + the struggle of keeping control over your powers)
- I'm into all kinds of robot sex - sticky, wireplay, plug-and-play, robot or alt mode, the sky's the limit!
- who tops/bottoms is up to you (including going against common fanon), if I have a preference at all it's for couples who switch as the mood strikes
- sex against walls, in unusual places, on furniture (such as desks)
- risk of discovery as an extra thrill (needing to keep quiet while someone's in the room next door, sex by the window where anyone could look up, one partner under the desk, etc)
- This list is in no way comprehensive, so feel free to ask about opt-in kinks!

For Artists
First of all, I'd like to apologize how utterly unhelpful I am when it comes to requesting for art. Art is just magic to me, and the process of creating it as incomprehensible. Be certain I'll love whatever you create!

I don't really have a preferred style or type of fanart. I do love funny art, feel free to be as silly as you like. I like both drawings and edits, if that helps, and I love both traditional and digital art. Portraits are always loved. I enjoy stained glass window and tarot card styles and have a fondness for medieval art.

I'm a fan of height differences, so if that applies to the couple it'd be cute. Same with highlighting other differences like different species, strikingly different body language or such. In the same vein, I enjoy changes to the style - say, characters from anime drawn in a realistic style or live-action characters as chibis.

I also love characters striking poses and couples hugging/cuddling or squabbling; as well as battles. I love the focus on clothes and hair, as well as them wielding weapons or other objects which are associated with them in canon/fanon. I love characters reimagined in AU scenarios, or as fantasy creatures or different species. I'm a total sucker for art with cute animals be they real world or in-universe creatures, or with pokemon. I'm also a sucker for pretty landscapes and architecture, and I love maps. I'd love pop culture references, like, say, a robot character dressing up for Halloween as a robot from another "fictional" canon.

I'd also adore fanart for my fics, if asking for that isn't too much. NSFW art is very welcome, too, go wild with your kinks.

Detroit: Become Human

Connor/Gavin Reed
They're like the worst case scenario for a successful romance and I love everything about it. I'm such a sucker for enemies falling in love (indignantly, resentfully) and for couples where one runs hot and the other is calm, then there's the baggage of their terrible canon history making it all the more angsty and wonderful. I'm not too picky if you redeem Gavin or have him be Connor's no good very bad mistake that backfires. I adore Connor being sweet but also love exploration of his dangerous side. I love android weirdness and find it particularly entertaining for these two since Gavin's so badly equipped to handle it. Machine Connor using Gavin's attraction to him to play him like a fiddle (while Gavin believes he's proving his human supremacy.) I'm quite happy with a complicated, messy relationship for them or Gavin struggling to overcome his prejudices. Fluff is loved, too, they deserve happy moments. (Hank and other DPD folks very welcome, proceed with Gavin and Elijah fanon as you prefer.)

Markus/North
I love them so much! I adore that they are both people with very strong, distinctive opinions who will argue their case with another but don't take such disagreements as a personal slight. How North is always pushing Markus to put Jericho first, even over her own well-being, how she chooses the greater good over her love for Markus by pushing to have him deposed if the game goes that way, yet if he returns it becomes clear that hasn't changed their feelings for another and she has his back again. I also love the way they pull no punches when they argue about politics. I love that within the confines of both putting what they believe to be right for their cause first, they have complete trust and faith in another. I'm actually super fond of pacifist Markus successfully romancing North since I do love my opposites attract couples, but I'd also enjoy North supporting Markus on a revolutionary path. Or you could break my heart with a tragic ending.

Rogue One

Cassian Andor/K-2SO
I absolutely love that they are best friends who have so many years of history together, all that trust and deep understanding and the shared sense of humor as the basis for their relationship. I'm very interested in the years they have been fighting together and being friends, as well as their origin story (either go with the comic or your own, I'm up for both.) Anything exploring their time together and the toll war is taking on them as people or a couple is loved (but so are post-Scarif scenarios, I live in Everybody Lives denial.) Besides the horrors of war, I'm always interested in specific challenges of Kay being a droid, and Cassian the closest he has to a master. How do they handle this situation? Is there any good way at all, does Cassian hate himself? But I'd also enjoy an exploration of them both being killers, and how this is kind of the worst possible thing they could have in common and yet there they are. One of these little oddities about dating a droid. Or that time they realized that being lovers makes them a better team in the field, too (or that time when Cassian tried to deny himself Kay because he was worried he would be compromised, and all the heartache that ensued.) How does the war take its toll on them and their love? Do they ever run into trouble with droids being treated as less than organics? Did Kay ever wonder if Cassian, too, sees him only as an object, or thinks of him as a substitute for a "real" organic partner? Does either ever wonder if their special bond is something that was (subconsciously) programmed into him? What happens if K-2SO's imperial programming reasserts itself? Is their relationship accepted or scandalous, what do their comrades think? If you go for sex, I'd love some interspecies awkward, especially if it's handled with humor and affection and deals with the intimacy born of years of knowing another, or power play, size/strength difference kink. Some dark!AU, say assassin Cassian stealing himself a droid.

Solo

L3-37/Qi'ra
I adore the contrast between them, Qi'ra working the system while L3 seeks to tear it down, Qi'ra the glam femme fatale while L3 is the scrappy little fighter with a giant heart. I love seeing them clash and their differences explored, and them finding some common ground because and not so much in spite of their differences. We only get to see glimpses of them having a lot more in common than they realize in canon, I'm always eager to see more of that explored. Also, I really, really want L3 to show Qi'ra how it works with humans and droids getting it on. L3 has never met a woman who is as trapped in chains and has convinced her so much that she likes it this way - it leaves her incredibly mad and frustrated, and she won't rest until she has tried to free Qi'ra of her chains. They clash over what freedom means to them. But maybe Qi'ra has been waiting for someone who would question her on everything, and can't resist the confrontation, or the fascination with this woman who always challenges her. Qi'ra gets her hands on L3's processor and rebuilds her for her own purposes, but once L3 is restored, feelings grow between them. They have actually met quite a few times prior to the movie during jobs and each time, they flirt a little more. L3 survives, her and Lando end up owing Crimson Dawn money and L3 goes to negotiate with Qi'ra herself.

Lando Calrissian/L3-37
So these two are utterly adorable to me and I love anything shippy, whether it is just Lando's one-sided pining while L3 snarks on or seeing them being together - again, anything from casual to one true love goes. Their personality clashes amuse me to no end and I'm fascinated by how it came about that Lando fell for L3, and how they even came to work together as a team. I really love them being such a good team despite all their bickering and differences in opinion. Most people assume Lando owns L3-37. Sometimes they have to go along with that. In Rebels, Lando already trusts W1-LE a lot with his business, but what is the moment when he realizes L3-37 is a partner, not an employee Lando gets L3-37 a part she has wanted for a long time. L3 lives, tell me about her place in Lando's life on Bespin. L3-37's last moments, what does she think and feels as she dies? Was it worth it to her? How does she feel knowing Lando risked his own life to save her? She says that Lando is interested in her but she isn't in him... except maybe she is, but then again nope. So what is it? What exactly are her conflicted thoughts? What does it take for her to give them a shot? Or what happened to convince her that Lando likes her at all? She has Lando do repairs on her. Tell me about the first time she permitted him to work on her - trusting him not to wipe her or give her a restraining bolt. L3 has her recharge dock right next to Lando's bed, when and how did they make that decision, was that when they decided they would be together for real? Does it hurt L3, and maybe even Lando, that people laugh at the idea of them together?

Star Trek: Discovery

Airiam/Kayla Detmer
The screen time both Airiam and Kayla have been given has been one of my favorite things about season 2, and Airiam's episode made me utterly adore her. I'm always happy for fix-it-fics but I love the canon tragedy as well. I love how happy Airiam and Kayla make another, their trust and affection for another, and how we both see them being part of such a supportive group of friends. I'd love to see more exploration of the specific way memory works for Airiam, and what this means for falling in love or being in a relationship. I'd like something about their life on Discovery together, something exploring one of the episodes from their perspective or how it affects them, or how Airiam feels as the seemingly only cybernetically enhanced person on board.

Star Wars: Prequel Trilogy

Domestically Inclined B1 Droid/Jaded CIS Human Mechanic
Clone Trooper Pilot Left For Dead/Heavily Damaged Vulture Droid
Abandoned B1 Battle Droid/Old Republic Civilian
I absolutely love opposites attract and enemies or people who play different parts on the same side falling in love against all odds. I love stories of finding understanding with another, finding the things you have in common and coming to appreciate the differences.
- How does the mechanic feel about repairing the B1 only to send them out again, with B1s mostly being cannon fodder - is this something they are in conflict about? Is there a special bond between a droid and their mechanic? How do they find their little slice of domestic life amidst the war, and what does it take for a B1 to win a jaded heart in the first place?
- To their commanders, clone troopers may be the organic counterpart to the CIS droids, but is that really going to be any common ground to stand on, or does it just make the clone deny anything they might have in common all the more? They're both left behind to be doomed, how and when do they stop trying to finish the job and help another instead, what is the one decisive moment that changes things?
- Did the civilian suffer loss at the hand of the CIS, like being from a world ravaged by war, or are they a scavenger? Maybe the droid isn't damaged, just got left behind by accident, are they eager to go back to the CIS and start out seeing the civilian as a means to this end? Or are they both equally lonely until they find another?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Original CIS Droid/Original CIS Mechanic
I absolutely love opposites attract and enemies or people who play different parts on the same side falling in love against all odds. I love stories of finding understanding with another, finding the things you have in common and coming to appreciate the differences. How did the mechanic feel about droids prior to meeting this specific droid, what did the droid do or say that changed their opinion? Does the mechanic hate repairing the droid only to send them out to do battle again or do they take pride in it, and what does the droid think about their mechanic's feelings, is this something they are in conflict about? Is their relationship secret, is it forbidden? If the droid is high-ranking, organics might even consider it an honor to be chosen by them? It would also be interesting to meet a CIS droid which isn't a battle droid. Is there a special bond between a droid and their mechanic?

Transformers Bayverse

Jazz/Maggie Madsen
I love the idea of the tough human analyst and the robot who is so attuned to sound together, I love that they're in their own ways both irreverent towards authority (and just so good at their job that they can get away with it.) They're also very pretty, just saying. Jazz likes to play music for Maggie when she's feeling miserable. What's a "normal day" for them? How does living and working on a military base make being in a relationship more complicated for them? Maggie and Jazz and a classy night out, he's the sleek car and she's dressed to the nines. How do they make this work when one of them is a giant robot/luxury car? Does she get her fancy cocktails to-go? Sharing stories about their very different lives, trying to find some middle ground. How does Maggie deal with being a civilian among soldiers?

Mikaela Banes/Bumblebee
So, the robot and his mechanic, it's so obvious and so good, I just love the chemistry between them and am years later still in love with "I'll drive, you shoot." Gimme human supporting her robot partner in all the small and big ways! With Decepticons and government agents breathing down their neck Bumblebee needs his partner more than ever. How do you best comfort or cheer up a giant robot? Teaching another customs of their respective home planets. Having a classical "earth-style" date night at the drive-in cinema. Mikaela is studying as a Cybertronian medic, Bee volunteers to be her test subject. (Not fully selflessly, he likes Mikaela working on him far too much.) Figuring out how to make it work in the berth is pretty intimidating, how does talking about it go? Or would they rather go for trial & error? (Aka, the xeno sexual exploration option.)

Mikaela Banes & Wheelie
Mikaela and his warrior goddess were the best thing, I loved their banter, I loved that we got to see a darker and more vicious side of Mikaela with him, yet at the same time Wheelie also brought out grudging affection in her. 5 reasons why Wheelie stays with Mikaela. Give me a moment where they comfort another when nobody else can. Them just getting another without need for many words. Wheelie chooses to go with Mikaela when she breaks up with Sam. (Or, she explains to him why he has to stay with Sam and it breaks his little spark.) Finding their everyday routines.

Transformers Generation 1 Cartoon

Cassetticons & Soundwave
Soundwave and his cassetticons are one of my favorite things about G1 and I love the team dynamics they have going. You don't have to include all the cassettes. One or more of the cassettes have been injured and Soundwave won't trust anyone else to do the repairs. You can totally get away with pranks when you have Soundwave to bail you out... right? Right?! Soundwave would like to return them, please. Their special bond is tested when something interferes with their ability to transform into cassette mode. Faced with the possibility of separate lives, they have to figure out how much truly binds them together beyond the matching alt modes. Two or more of the Cassettes spending a day exploring the squishy world together.

Rumble/Skywarp
I just love these two doing their best to make another's life miserable, they're hilarious together and I have shipped them ever since. I'd love to see more of their adventures and how all that spite turns to something more. After they destroyed important equipment during one of their brawls, they have to work together on repairs. They started flirting as a way to gross another out - when did it turn real??? Rumble is determined to impress Skywarp and keeps bringing him gifts he thinks Skywarp should like. Spoiler: they're all awful and borderline offensive (sometimes beyond borderline.) After being mocked by the rest of the trine, Rumble is determined to prove he can show Skywarp a good time despite his short size.
