One of my driving reasons to be a writer is the knowledge that there are other people out there that feel this way, and I want to be able to reach them, so that even if they don't feel like anyone else is there for them, I can at least be there through my writing. Kinda idealistic sounding, but it gives me more purpose.
I've been bogged down by work a bit, both my day job and my own personal stuff. I've been running away from it a bit, but I need to get back on track.

I just read a comment the other day that said something like that.... The person had contemplated suicide at one point, but decided not to because he'd read something like what you said. I don't think it's "ideal" in the sense of not being realistic, - that actually encouraged me, too, the idea that writers can help people without even knowing it. :)
I know what that's like, too.... For me, writing is my stress-reliever from that kind of thing. I don't know if it's the same way for you, but regardless, keep writing!
