Objectively, he chose a good place to end it. It's just one of those situations where... one more chapter goddamnit, and it woulda been perfect...

Is it like a Percy/Annabeth cliffy or what? YOU MAY TELL ME. Even if you must do so through PM.

Yes. Yes it ends on a Percy/Annabeth cliffy. LIKE I SAID, OBJECTIVELY, IT'S KIND OF PERFECT. And RR could have made it way way worse, but he didn't. But ugh, one more chapter and he totally could have tossed us a bone...

I - I - I don't know what to do with this. /deep breath Okay. I need to just get off the internet and not read anything about it. Didn't pick it up from the library deliberately so in I finish my essay before I start it. THE FREAKING SUSPENSE. Okay. Okay. I'm alright. I. Am. Okay.

PART OF THAT IS ME THROWING A TEMPER TANTRUM. Looking back, objectively, it's not as bad as I made it out to be, other than the evil cliffhanger ending. But RR could have made it way worse, WAY more torturous, made us get to know Percy from the beginning all over again and he didn't. So all around, it's actually not that bad. But I'm a child, and I want my way.

ON THE EDGE OF A BREAKDOWN BECAUSE I FREAKING NEED THIS BOOK IN MY HANDS LIKE RIGHT NOW /DIES
Actually getting off the internet now, the temptation to find spoilers is too great!

WELL ALSO KEEP IN MIND THAT THOSE .GIFS ARE NOT RELATED TO THE ACTUAL PLOT. JUST MY SHIP.

YOU KNOW, IN CASE YOURE IN IT FOR THE STORY AND NOT THE SHIPPING.

Oh, geez. Okay, I'm preparing to do the same thing.

But I had weird, restless dreams about it all night, and I don't think it can be worse than what my subconscious dreamed up (don't even ask).

Or maybe it could.

Okay, I have now done that. I think I was prepared for worse, and really didn't expect the best, so I am okay with this...though another year is a long time.

We have to discuss later--I don't want to leave spoilers all over your LJ entry.

IDK if you read my comments to other people, but I do acknowledge - especially now, a day later, that I've had a chance to sleep on it - that a little bit of it was me having a temper tantrum at the way the book ended. It really could have been so much worse, I admit.

I was reading on my computer (downloaded Kindle for PC) so the Moss .gif above is more literal, so I didn't even have a book, lol. I started clicking through the last pages frantically, and sure enough. No reunion.

That's what I did. I was flipping through the final pages and when I saw the last line I was like ... What... WHAT. Then I spent the first couple days skimming the book for P/A moments and mentions.

I wonder if RR is on a mission to make us destroy all of our expensive things.
