On 3D TVs

Oh, and while I was at a Best Buy today I checked out one of the 3D TV stations that were setup showing Avatar. It didn't impress me at all and didn't make me want to get a 3D TV. The image did jump out at you, but it didn't really add anything to the viewing experience. More than anything, the active shutter glasses made it worse. I could ( Read more... )

The only type of 3d screen I'm interested in is one for my computer so I can play games in 3d, but that's about it.

I think the 3d movie crap needs to die off again, like it did in the 50s/60s. It is almost always a gimmick, and, at least for me, frequently causes headaches, due to the forced focal point and stuff.

It is especially annoying when you have a sequence with a bunch of fast cuts, making it difficult for the eyes to refocus before the next cut.
