I just finished watching the series finale of "The Legend of Korra" and I think the term gobsmacked is appropriate. "Avatar: The Last Airbender" was a very different show from most cartoons airing in the US. This has probably been one of my favorite Otakon weekends as a staffer or attendee. In a way it came back full circle to my first year as an attendee in 1999 and my first year as a Section Chief in 2004. Although it happened in 2005, I just learned that Space Mountain at Euro Disney has been renovated and now sports a futuristic design. Space Mountain at Euro Disney had been my favorite of all the Space Mountain rides. I'm not sure how many are aware, but there's a company out there called The Asylum that specializes in "mockbusters" which are low-budget parodies of big-budget films. Sometimes I love Adult Swim/Cartoon Network. For their April Fool's Day prank they've brought back Toonami. In addition to just airing the old shows, they've also made new animation for the TOM segments. Earlier today I chain smoked the rest of the original Macross series, so this is a nice night cap to a day of classic anime. :)

It would appear that my printer decided to mis-align itself one month after the warranty expired. I'm not sure if this is ink cartridge related or not since I just noticed the problem after popper in a new cartridge. The top of the page prints fine, but as soon as it gets to the last half inch or so, it seems like the print heads are catching ( Read more... )

Happy New Year everyone. I only drank half a glass of champagne less night since I was the driver but I woke up feeling like I had a mild hangover. I think it's the combination of staying up until 4am, lots of dancing, and essentially waking up dehydrated and exhausted. Other than that I had a blast. Good way to ring in the new year.

Added another 8.5oz of the lingonberry concentrate to the mixture since the yeast colony is still looking strong.

Fun-fun. There's a big thunderstorm rolling through my area and I happened to open the front door to look at it when a lightning strike took place not more than half a mile away. Damn loud.

In addition to the mango and root bear I also whipped up a cranberry-cherry and tried once again to make a lingonberry wine. The cranberry-cherry is a standby which has always worked well for me while the lingonberry and I have had a love-hate relationship.
