Today, just one day before our planned road-trip into the Konkan, I spent a pot of money to purchase my first Digital SLR - a Nikon D80.

I thus have officially embarked into photography as my new hobby.

wow, that's not a cheap camera.

I want to get into real photography in the future, but it's going to be a long time before I can afford a decent camera for it. I just finally got my first digital camera, ever, and it's one of the cheapy ones.
Here, your camera costs 800-1000 dollars. Mine cost 150. lol, if that gives you an idea.

Yes, I know. Cameras cost less over there than here in India :-( Especially with all these Christmas deals and all.

But then hey, vacations cost lesser over here, so I will have lower recurring costs ;-)

Go for a good camera soon - pester Sir Jones for it if you need to; demand it as a Christmas / Wedding Anniversary gift!

Anyway, seeya after the vacation. :-)
