(no subject)

School started Friday. My schedule looks exactly how I'd like it to look, which makes me happy.

AP USH - Ballingall: I 5ed AP Euro, so I'm not worried about this one at all. Ballingall is an amazing teacher and the subject is interesting. The only worry is the homework that we'll be assigned. Last year I always heard Juniors complaining about APUSH IDs, and I think they (the IDs) may start getting on my nerves this year. B said that he won't be lecturing as much either, which may be a problem, 'cause last year all my notes were from lectures. The class is going to be interesting, though. Chang, Cannon, Plourde, Toma, Canzoneri, Napolitano, Quincy, Pertusati, Echeverria... a weird combination of people that probably includes random pieces of every major "clique" at Damien.

AP Physics C - Saikali: This class is going to suck. Saikali randomly assigns things on the Internet, which means I have to check every night because he himself said he won't always announce the homework. We only have 13 chapters to cover before May because we're only covering Mechanics, but guess what that means? That's right, I get to study E&M all on my own. I walked in on Friday and was pissed 'cause I was forced to sit somewhere I didn't want to. I prefer talking to some of the seniors in that class over others, and I was cornered out of that.

AP French - Allen: It's French. I'll have to step it up 'cause what's-his-face French boy is in the class. His accent is impeccable, obviously, but his grammar is off. He studied at an Anglophone school, so he's never really studied the mechanics of the language, but that still puts him at an advantage. And I will have to pull it together for the AP Exam if I'm attempting to 5 it, 'cause French is one of the most difficult exams on the roster. McCleary and Ebiner are in the class, which is only about 9 people big, so it'll definitely be fun.

AP Calc BC - Pearsall: Pearsall is just brilliant. The only problem will be having to go over the old Calc stuff for a third of the year. I'm going to talk to Pearsall sometime soon and ask him if I can do anything about that. I think if I finish all the Calc BC stuff soon I might be able to start doubling up in Diff Eq, which would be awesome. I'd still do all the class's work, but I'd report every once in a while on Diff Eq work and then move on to Multivariable Calc for next year. And the people in the class are awesome, too. :)

AP English Lang - Goldstein: I don't know how much being in Drama will give me clout in that class, but I also plan on asking Goldstein if I can write for the Laconian on a semi-regular basis. I don't have the schedule available to be part of the staff, but the newspaper sucks and writing for it would make me happier. I could even just cover the debate stuff, I guess. Goldstein is an amazing teacher, but the problem in that class is the people. I would have never expected some of these people to be in AP, and at the rate we do group projects, it might suck. A lot.

Religion 11 - Hoffman: Hoffman likes me, I'm VP of Amnesty this year. I started the year off with the words "I'm agnostic," and the homework assignment on how to me, "Jesus means ambiguity and the unknown." I think he's up for good debates, so the class'll be alright. Maldonado, Belna, Plourde, and Palacio are in there, and Maldonado's already teasing me about calling someone a "dipshit." I swear I didn't do it on purpose, it went through my mouth before it hit my brain. :P

Debate: Debate is debate. What I'll be doing this year is what I should have been doing last year, so it'll start to get irritating and mundane. Hopefully I can prove myself at the first tournament (bid, anyone?). Whatev. I have a huge assignment to be working on, so I get to slave away for all of today to do it. :)

ECs:
Drama: I think Vern and I are the only ones left. Oh, there's Pav and Tim, but they're not so much in the direction and Tim's not even high in the role ladder. Either way, that leaves me at the helm for next year at the very least. Looks like we're doing Tony and Tina's Wedding for this October (21-22), which is another big cast. I don't think we have enough people for that, but we're having a meeting next week. We'll see.

Tutoring: I talked to Mrs. Velasquez after school Friday and she was happy I planned on continuing, so I'll meet up with her next week to talk about that.

Amnesty: I also talked to Hoffman, and I guess I'm VP this year, since I'll be the only one left next year. I'm planning on meeting next week for anyone who's still interested, but I need to remind Luis to send Hoffman our contact information 'cause he has to give it to the real AI organizational heads. I might be able to push this thing into gear this year.

Dance: Mr. Fernandez wants to work with Whitney and I privately, which means we have to work out a day of the week. Fridays are out and Mondays might be hard, which leaves Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I'm interested to see how good we can get in two years. If anything, it'll be really fun. This'll be my 6th year, but I've never really devoted myself to it as much as I would have liked to. We'll see.

Speaking of working out, the new scale we have says I weigh 140. Wtf? That's an extra 10 lbs over what the other scale said, and it makes me feel even fatter than I'm already not. I need to exercise in the mornings, which means I need to go to sleep earlier at night, which means I can't spend as much time mucking around doing nothing.

Looks like this'll be an interesting year...

Oh, and Jim Verraros writes amusing music. So Deep's about anal sex, yo. And it's good, too!

Pulling your hair, gasping for air
Sweating so hard I can't see
Take my arms up above me
You're making me moan 'cause I'm so hungry
Bite me, tease me, use your tongue
Don't worry 'cause I'm not gonna run
