This weekend I decided to bring out the civil war buff in me. It started on Saturday afternoon when I spontaneously threw my bike into my car and drove down to Chancellorsville near Fredericksburg. I'm always interested in history in general-- the civil war, however, is just one of those topics, like fan fic or anime, that just has an extreme pull for some people that I've never quite understood. I appreciate it, but I can't immerse myself in it.
It was interesting seeing how the Ft. Sumter visitor center had a distinctly southern slant to it, in how the story was told. They had a lot of quotes from Lincoln, with the point of showing how hypocritical he was.
