really. I've been to the site..its gorgeous and they own it.
I've talked to the owner.. he grew up at TRF and is a very VERY rare person. NOT because hes a Rennie to his bones, though he is. NOT entirely because He seems to have a vision of something with the soul of faire and the will to make it real...what makes him the rarest of rare men is that he has these AND he seems to have a VERY good grasp of the practical parts of running a faire as a business.. ... and even more than that ..he SEEMS to have the MONEY to actually make it work. When we talked numbers .. he was thinking an opening year between 20,000 and 40,000 visitors.... and an advertixing budget sufficient to make it real.
This is NOT a replacement Excalibur.. this is the beginning of the THIRD big fair in Texas... and theres still time to get in on the ground floor.. so really.. to any friends that do fairs partially for the fun but ALSO for the money.. this is one you wont want to miss out on.
I overheard the Entertainment director mention yesterday that they were ALMOST full up on Jewelry booths.. so if youre doing Jewelry you may want to get your app in ASAP.
There is plenty of room for the fair to expand in the coming few years.. but if theres money to be made in faire vending.. I suspect this is the horse you want to hitch your wagon to.
