I believe someone mentioned I should see Firefly before Serenity...if so I may have to postpone my viewing of this new wonder...is that acceptable?

It's not entirely necessary to see Firefly first in order to understand what's going on; I hadn't, the first time. You'd appreciate certain aspects of the film more, but you won't be completely lost.

Go see it opening weekend. Then go out and mainline the DVDs, and see the movie again. ;)

That is a good and noble reason, and may lead you to better enjoyment of the movie. However, I would recommend that you make it a goal to see it on the big screen, as I saw a clip of the movie last night on the TV and I think waiting for the DVD to come out will mean you miss some of the goodness that is the movie.

You'll like the series though. :)

We are looking to have our collection of Firefly DVD's returned to us this week. As soon as they are back in our possession, you will hear from me. I will call you when we figure out when a babysitter can be found this weekend. No matter what order you see them in, just see them. :)
