I've been thinking I really want to get a digital camera for my move to NYC. I don't take enough photos of things, and consequently wonder about the things I've forgotten about and upon which I've missed out. I'm putting some stuff up on ebay for sale tomorrow, some extra phones I have lying about. I hope I get a decent price for them, I could use ( Read more... )

After my first year of college, I developed the roll of film in my camera and found pictures of my eleventh birthday party on it.

That is epic. I'm surprised the film lasted that long.

Those pictures turned out okay, but I subsequently loaded my camera with film that I had purchased at the same time as the first roll (I believe it said "best before 1993" on the side) and the resultant photos left something to be desired.

Hi, I happened upon your journal while looking at the different journals listed under cmupinkos. I noticed you have women's studies listed as an interest. Are you a WS major? I'm curious because I am a WS major, and this year I'm cranking out the courses.

Anyway, good luck with your move to New York!

No, I was a philosophy/psychology major. I almost minored in women's studies, but I realized it was a bad idea because I'm too argumentative and while I value the concept of women's studies I also have strong opinions about what it should do and not do.

What classes are you taking this semester?

Psych of Women
Intro to Human Sexuality
Male/Female Communication
Soc of Sex and Gender

And I may also take Spanish. Obviously, I'm going cranking out these courses (I really want to be done in years or less if I can help it).

By strong opinions, do you mean that you may be more on the radical side of feminism, or maybe more moderate? I don't think one could be too argumentative unless they were unwilling to at least hear out the opinions/values/ideas of others.

Well extremely moderate in most cases and also I believe that the project should be only engaged in certain things.

And its not that I'm unwilling, far from it, its more that I tend to debate until there is nothing left to debate and oftentimes people cannot seperate my debating a concept with them from the concept of my refusing to understand what they are saying.

Plus I would have had to jam it in in my last year, and I wasn't about that.
