I think for now the buttons stay as are. I have a shotgun on the workbench that will have a few more things added to is, such as a bigger box with a shoulder strap, rather than belt worn, and will be more of a ray-gun style than a slug thrower....
You know, before you started posting these projects, I had heard of the term steampunk, but had no idea what it is. But, it's some pretty cool looking stuff, reminds me a bit of the movie Wild, Wild West, too.
One of my computer programming textbooks includes random blurbs about various people throughout history who influenced the development of computers. I just read about Charles Babbage's analytical engine last night, and immediatly thought of your steampunk projects! (well, the overall image of the item reminded me of the whole steampunk theme, anyway.)
I had never heard of it either until the most recent wicked winter faire when some folks showed up in some awesome costumes. So I came home and started to tinker with various things to see what I could create. I have a new one starting in the workshop. I'll post some pictures up later in the week. I am taking more pictures of this one so I can keep a better log of what I did.
How have you been by the way? Long time no talk.. Hope all is well
I've seen some of the coolest little steampunk jewelry pieces made from old watch parts and such, lately, too! I may have to start playing around with some of that stuff over the summer break.
Life has been pretty good, lately! It's been insanely hectic because of school, but so far, I've been able to pick up a lot of the programming logic they've been teaching me, and that's felt really great! How have things been with you, besides the steampunk gear?

"It's looking alright. Nothing I'd have on display for every girl that came over to see, but definitely something I'd don in the bedroom for a choice few."

Otherwise, still doing the ren faire thing, and now the steampunk design.
E-bay has some amazing punked watches, but I am sure you could easily out-punk any of those, you should give it a try.
