Roadshow moment

Dumpster Dive 2005 was very successful. I snagged an old-looking arrow-back Windsor chair next to a dumpster in University Village. Once, I got it home and cleaned it off, I noticed a maker's mark under the seat: Nichols and Stone, Gardner, MA, 1910. Translation: somebody should have taken grandma's chair home with them..it's worth about $500. ( Read more... )

I don't have a digital camera, so I'll be a while photographing my chair. I'll take pictures of it sometime and scan them though.

I don't know if you heard, but Wally had cancelled his gig at the Art Festival for the first time in a really long time, but at the last minute, he uncancelled, so he's doing a short set on the Sunday of the Festival, if you're interested.

Sadly, I won't be in town that weekend. I used to go see hiim play every weekend when I was much younger. Adam once told me that one of his first memories of me was when we were sophomores in high school and I was sitting on the side of the stage. He said I looked punk and he wanted to meet me. *sigh*

Enjoy that show though! I haven't seen Wally play in years!

I got your e-mail! Was there more to the interview than what you sent me? It sounded like some of Wally's stuff was alluding to another conversation or something?

Wally's definitely slowed down, but I can't see him calling it quits. Even if it's only a show or two a year...I think he'll always be there making music.

Oh, sorry, what I sent you was just his answers, not my questions.
You're right--I bet he's got another 15 years left in him. And I'm glad that the Art Festival Fairy intervened this time around. :)
Have a good one,
A
