I was going to ramble on and on about art school yesterday [painting has been put off till next week, because I bought the wrong color black, yes, there are SEVERAL different types of black oil paints

Mac: *concerning the various types of black paint* "...I feel dumb."
Rogan: Don't worry, I didn't know either. Kickass work, Danielle, your sense of proportions have definitely improved since the last stuff I've seen from you. Could you put up a link to the ref photo again, just for extra comparison? The crosshatching is also definitely serving you well, though the up-close look is a bit too high-contrast for me. I prefer the more smooth gradient myself. On the whole, nice job.
Thank you for the comment about proportions. <---if you don't have that, your pretty much fucked. I L-O-V-E this crosshatching technique, its not for everyone, but for now, its new and challenging and gorgeous to look at, so its working for me.
Thank you and thank you for your feedback. :D I can always count on Rogan to leave me some feedback!
I'll do that too where I'll save photos and let them inspire me later (or sometimes draw them..I really need to get back into drawing and painting..I miss it)
Feel free! There needs to be more music themed rooms :)
And yeah..if you ever makes prints, definitely let me know. I really like your style..and of course, the subjects you choose. I mean c'mon..Dave and Thom..that's beyond awesome :D
Thank you! Conor is great..he's such a sweetheart.
Ha, yeah i love my subjects too. Too bad most people I know have no clue who they are. I try to pick interesting subjects with interesting poses/looks. That way if someone is looking at it and doesn't recognize them, at least they'll enjoy what their looking at.
My first value study [b&w] painting is going to be of Beck. :P Can't wait till I start it.
I know someone on LJ who just saw Conor at the LA Bowl. I seriously almost died of jealousy right then and there. lol.

It took me roughly...50-60 hours. Give or take. It was so rewarding and challenging. Looking back, I thought it was going to take me longer.

I'll keep my pencils. They're easy.
And yes, proportions are good, after my double-check. Thumbs up.

Wish I could draw like that! You're super, super talented.
I'd buy a print from you and hang it on my wall (I'm making my bedroom all music themed..guitars, concert photos, tickets, drawings, etc) :D

Ooooh, I like your idea. I might have to steal that idea for when I move eventually. :D
Hmmm, I've been thinking about making some prints, another LJ buddy of mine suggested the same thing. Will definitely have to ponder on it.
Your icon fucking rocks. Rawr Conor.
