Painful Art

Art class is becoming a little too dangerous for me. We are carving wood using EXTREMELY scary power tools in the wood-shop. Today, the drill decided to annihilate my hand. It's not bad enough to have stitches or anything, but it bled alot. Ewwwww. Now my sculpture has little blood spots on it. The drill didn't eat all of my hand though, it ( Read more... )

Ouch. Brings back memories of the glass mosaics we did for Mrs. Hunsaker... I think I had bandaids on all ten of my fingers at any given point, but I'm just dangerous when it comes to sharp objects.

If you cover the wood with a walnut or mahogany stain, the blood spots will be a lot less noticable. We had to do that to a coffee table my brother busted his head into when he was little. :)

you can tell people the blood is an abstract representation of all the pain in the world and that it's got some sort of deep symbolism to it. That'll work.
