Humans are a social species. This isn't news- it's one of the reasons that a puny, clawless, slow, naked ape became the most successful animal on the planet. Working together, we figured out how to hunt and kill much larger prey, how to support each other and live together. We work best in tribes. We're literally not wired to be loners

I'm sending you a virtual hug from up here in the near north where dreary is a way of life. But at least I have my posse around: pets help, I hear Constance chattering occasionally from her bedroom, Mike's cross-town to play a war-game with friends.

But I have all that and it does make a world of difference. I'm sorry that you have to wait for so long to see someone and I'm sorry we're not closer. Mike suffered a setback last week (minor) which cut into our travel plans for Easter, but maybe this summer?

I sure appreciate the hug, very much. And I would be delighted to see you! As it happens I passed through your airport last week, to visit my mother in the Mid North. Would be very pleased to make a stop chez vous the next time, if that's doable. Or of course see you and yours here in the Big Smoke.
