Wow. This is the first I've heard of this. And your post resulted in my having to look up the whole controversy. Disappointing indeed, but somehow not surprising... I guess I go into fandoms with the understanding that people are human and apt to make mistakes and that this type of mistake is far more common than I would like it to be, I guess. Maybe it's because I follow a lot of feminist or otherwise Twitter folks, maybe it's because I am aware that a lot of shit happens, and that I've been in at least one relationship with a man who I now consider was a bit manipulative although I certainly was not underage at the time. I guess I just expect worse of people than I ought to sometimes. I guess I look at people as being flawed and more likely to fall from any idealized portrait we want to paint of them than they are to maintain this ideal.
