i was there like, three years ago i think in december for the memorial of his death. it was a lot like your experience just at night. try to go to it. there was a memorial in the morning too, where people gathered and read stuff. i think they still do it, last time the police tried to shut it down.

They still do it. However (and maybe this is why the police tried to shut it down) Yoko doesn't want people to "celebrate" the day of his death.

he is my favorite person ever. i'd really like to go up some time next year, i think. it would be his sixty-fifth birthday and the twenty-fifth anniversary of his death.

i'd probably cry my eyes out.

Oh my you are beyond lucky to have been present at that event. You can't even imagine how much I want to go there someday. That's super rad. I want to meet that guy and hear him talk like John, that would be rad. :)
