It is now officially Valentine's Day.
Moving on, I don't feel like making an official update, filling you in on all the details of my life in New York. Instead I am just going to post pictures of artwork done by the sculpture Petah Coyne. Crazy lady is she.
The three above pictures are of a hanging sculpture of birds perched on a hanging tree form. The entire sculpture is encased in white wax, going along with most of her artwork.
These two are of the same style, but involve flowers instead. She has done some magnificent work using flowers as a base media. She has also done sculptures of roses encased in black wax. I regret, however, that none of the pictures I took of those sculpture turned out well.
Believe it or not, those are statues of the Virgin Mary wrapped in horse hair. That's right, horse hair.
This is the Virgin Mary encased in wax.
The groups of flowers are at the base of the Virgin Mary wax sculpture. They provide an overly decorated sense to the sculpture, kind of like the representations of the Virgin Mary. Eh? Eh?
So yeah, Petah Coyne kicks ass.
