Emergency room update

So I went to the prenatal emergency unit before, as I said, and it was...eh...very boring. They put on the fetal monitor and they really hurt me when trying to find Alayna's heartbeat. I mean, they were really hurting me. I've had the fetal monitor on enough times to know that it shouldn't hurt and it shouldn't take a half hour to find the baby's ( Read more... )

Hey honey,
I don't know you very well but I'd like to ease your fears. My due date( personally) was December 16th and I ended up being born October 3rd. Now this was in 1988 and a while back but I survived well, but unfortunatly as you fear did have to spend a long while in the hospital. I still hate hospitals to this day (but that's only because both my parents work in one). Anyway, I just wanted to leave you the knowledge that it's proven the female sex as a whole are better fighters from birth. Even if Alayna's born prematurly as they say she will be, I have no doubt she'll be fine.

I heard that they are better fighters when born premature from a lot of people, and I do know this. Unfortunately, there's always that freaking fear, unfortunately. :( It's alright, though. I'm sure everything will be okay. I just try to think positively.

Thanks :)

but you were treated the same way they would treat any other pregnant woman who 'thought' there was more wrong with them than there was.

They know what they are doing and knew that there was nothing the matter but some normal pregnancy aches and pains. Swelling to quite a degree is NORMAL without any pre-e. Thank the lovely weather in most cases.

I didn't say they treated me bad because they weren't sure what's wrong, I just say the way they treated me, the way they spoke down to me because I'm young and the way they thought I was pretty much "stupid" really didn't make me happy. They really didn't treat me my age and I didn't appreciate that. The nurses just really seemed to dwell on the fact that I'm 20. There was so much more that I didn't even write...when they found out I was 20, pregnant and unmarried, they asked me TONS Of personal questions about her father that I didn't want to answer. When my mom and grandmother heard about this, they went off because they had no right to ask that. I even called the hospital this morning (finding someone to complain to was very difficult) but when I finally spoke to one of the people on the emergency dept's administration, they said that they weree going to have a talk with the nurses that were on call last night, because they have no right to ask those questions or talk down to patients.
