I'm trying to figure out acid pro though, but I think it works much better for mixing and dj tracks. Cakewalk is, yes, very messy and I can't tell one tab from the other. But I'll give Acid Pro a shot.

I wish it as much as you do. :) I'm in the process of recording an acoustic version of it. It actually sounds borderline punk in it's band version. Man, if only I could figure out Cakewalk and get my grubby paws on some jack thing that would connect my electric guitar to the PC.
