Moderator reminder

Jul 12, 2004 22:02

Just a reminder to members to friends-lock your posts on artists_guild. The idea is to be able to receive advice in privacy, and for everyone to be comfortable with posting unfinished work.

The only unlocked posts should be the moderator posts.

If you're not sure how to friends-lock a post, email one of the mods or leave a comment here.

I'm confused. Does each member have to set up a filter of the other members and then friends lock the post for that filter? That doesn't make sense to me. Isn't there a way to set up a community so that only the members can see it? I've seen other communities like that I think.

If you friends lock your post in the usual way, either using a client such as semagic or directly on the update section of LJ, it will automatically lock the post so that all community members can see it. It doesn't actually relate to who you have friended on your personal journal.

I could set up the community so that only members could see it, but that would mean that nobody could see the membership request post! *g*

I've discussed this, and feel it's not appropriate to have people with multiple memberships. So if you wish to become a member under the new name, then you'll need to make a statement (including a statement regarding following the rules) on the correct post, using that name. We'll then remove membership from your eunae account, and admit you as boringmachine.
