If it is your head trying to deal, so what? You are a creative talent, you will creatively deal with the pains that life throws your way. The secret to surviving outside of asylums and prisons is to become a well known successful artist. This way you can be labelled as "eccentric" and not "crazy" or a "threat". It is what I am working on, fates willing. Dali certainly did it quite successfully.

thank yew for the kind words. my lil'head does alot of things that others label as eccentric... i have a reputation in la, sf, and in detroit. its hard going in to a new art kominity, i get frustrated. seems the south has a good ol'boy netwerk fer everything. and i havent tried that hard, yew know what its like. i want to go shoping with yew at krogers next time yer here they have a perfectly sterile and ordered world in there. i want to see a real representation of life on the shelves and photo document the trip into kroger land(konfuse the kustomer).

We made a video one time. It was from the groceries point of view. The camera was sitting on the shelf as a friend of mine plucked it off and threw it into the cart. As other groceries got tossed in it shifted and revealed some wonderful scenes. We shot it in silence and added appropriate grocery store music later.

A still shot series of the ordered sterility and an intrusion on the mindless consumers participating in purchasing what they "need" sounds fantastic.

Hang out at the Art Farm, tis my home and you will find people there who have little use for the art "scene" and the good ole boy network. There are visual, performance, and theatrical artists there. Find Dennis, he owns the place. Make yourself at home.

The Art of it all ladydagger2evil September 12 2003, 01:31:37 UTC
I feel for u I do on all that has transpired lately with the girls, the frustration with the art,the uncertanties of the art community and making rent whatnot.
It's not easy for Artist in the south it seems I've noticed (I have yet to branch out myself like u and so many others) But what I've seen in my 15 yrs almost and whatnot living in Atl, the art scene is lacking (I've had many tell me that have been from Atl and branched to the west/and more east coast that is far better.
I think when I do get enough Art (worthy in a sense for a gallery and just enough, I will most likely not showcase it in Atl. or atleast try to make a living off of it there, rather branch out further and in places more Artist friendly (and not so Corporate Art inclined)
SC is even worse I have discovered.. God I hate the south...
Doing my best to get out of here, CA and OR are looking very apealing at this time..

I hear Portland OR is one of the better places for *alternative* Artist..
Have u been there?

"i have a wave of intensity that pushes me and when ( ... )
