so like for the past year or so i have been wanting to dye my hair a different color. I'd like to go black...or plum, but just not so sure I would look with such dark colors. My hair is already dark brown to begin with, so I'm guessing it would be ok if it were darker. It's just, hair as thin as mine would probably look thinner the darker it is. ( Read more... )

I really like the highlights you have, especially when you went really light. The only advice I can give about coloring your hair really dark is that...once it's there, there's no getting rid of it. You can't color over it (mostly black). I just re-did mine to a very dark brown/black and now I have to wait for it to completely grow out and cut it off if I want to dye it again.

i'm just afraid it will make my hair look thinner than it is...like you said...'once you go black...you can't go back.'

Black also looks so weird for a while...like really fake looking. I have really thin and limp hair and I think it actually looks better black than a lighter color. You might try going brown gradually and get a little darker and see if you like it.
