I remember this film gave me a feeling of high anxiety when I watched it. There's something claustrophobic about the shots and the set pieces that gets to me more than anything Terry Gilliam has tried to do. When I first saw it, it got in the way of my enjoyment, but now I really want to revisit it. I especially like your idea that DePalma is investigating "well choreographed deaths" - it's an idea I've not even begun to think about. Certainly seems to haunt ole Brian, though, when I think back on his movie's I've seen.
