Okay, slept on it. I stand by my tweet to a fanboy last night re; "CRY MOAR I was expecting another ROTF.", and sure it's not saying much to say it was a hell of a lot better because there were some parts I wanted to see and didn't and others were avoided and I called a few right before they happened ("OH MY GOD IF HE'S-THEN SOUNDWAVE-OH SHIT.")
I managed to avoid the Sentinel Prime spoiler. As such, it hit me like a motherfucker when it happened, and my wish to see him and Optimus team up in awesome fightscene was kind of...adjusted. But I did like how he was the superior fighter between them.
The only reasoning I can think of for Megatron is brain damage. Headcrabs and all. 'Wow', seriously, and not in the good way. There's gotta be slashfic somewhere of him and Sentinel. Possibly some betrayal negotiations on Cybertron. Do want, go find.
FUCKING CADE. YAY BARRICADE. BEST PART OF THE MOVIE EVEN IF HE DIED I SERIOUSLY SQUEALED IN MY SEAT AND DID MINI-FLAILING. He just. Just his appearance made me squee I was so happy ;A;
Anyway, I went in to this movie with my Vector hat on unintentionally ("IN ROBOT HEAVEN, EVERYONE HAS HATS." ~DJW) so all I could think about halfway was 'oh man i/we are so disappoint D: D: D:' and trying to figure out some Prime reasoning. Yes, Sentinel had a very good reason to do what he did; cut your losses, still save the race. But I'm going to be going with my thought of the Primes (a few of the Originals; Vector, at least, unless incoming canon reduces him to a dick too) being Guardians of Life, not just Cybertronian. Cybertronian first, but...
...guys, you already fucked up one planet. Your own. What's to say you won't do it again, down the line? And then go to another? And another? LONG-ASS VIEW but I have a muse with a fun PoV on that train. It's over. You failed. /Epps Pick up the pieces, but don't inflict your failure on others unless they ask to help you.
ANYWAY overall a satisfactory end (aside FROM the end dear god that was even more rushed than the first movie. DEAR BAY; it's called 'Dénouement'. I know not everybody does it but I think it could have worked here.) but then I went in with low expectations. Not expecting everybody to love it, but I'm going to roll my eyes at the guys going WHAT A TERRIBLE PIECE OF SHIT. If you went in expecting an Oscar movie, you clearly haven't seen the previous two.
