So lately, I've been reading in my Cell Biology book about how versatile carbon is. Stuff like how it's really good at forming these huge organic molecules, that sort of thing. That's about the time it occurred to me: carbon is the slut of the periodic table. Carbon will bond with just about anything, she doesn't care. As long as that atom can come up with a covalent bond, carbon don't care. Single bond, double bond, even triple bond. It's all good, honey. Carbon will bond with another atom, or even two, three, up to four other atoms or molecules. If you want, carbon will even bond with other carbon atoms, she's not picky (hot!). Carbon will do it because she's a dirty element with no self esteem that likes it any way she can get it. Oh, yeah.
Visions of tiny little carbon atoms wearing low rise jeans, thongs and tiny baby doll shirts propositioning passing carboxyl groups are stuck in my head now, needless to say. Carbon. What a total skank.
